¿Quiénes somos? Who are we? The Pioneer Valley is home to rich and varied Latino heritage and history spanning more than 100 years that will take center stage in a community celebration and discussion from September 2015, to May 2016, organized around the PBS series, Latino-Americans.

Learn more about local and national Latino history and heritage in the United States and the Valley, discuss community relations and Latino identity, or participate in creating an exhibit. Fourteen film-and-discussion events, four exhibits, and six cultural programs and festivals, as well as related events, bring you every opportunity to enjoy some of the rich offerings: multiple screenings of the six episodes of the documentary in libraries and museums in Holyoke, Northampton, Springfield, and Turners Falls, (many followed by community discussion moderated by local scholars); art and culture exhibits at the Springfield Museums, Wistariahurst in Holyoke, and in Turners Falls; festivals and music at the Springfield museums and in Turners Falls.

Herencia Latina is spearheaded and coordinated by the Pioneer Valley History Network, funded by grants from the American Library Association/National Endowment for the humanities, and Mass Humanities, and supported by El Sol Latino, Nuestras Raices, the Center for New Americans, and WGBY Public Television.
